Spectacular coastline merged into the wild beautiful inland scenery – this is the Eastern shore of Mallorca, one of the most beautiful and visited regions all around Balearic Islands. This is also the place where you will find a few beaches, part of Muro municipality, hidden for most of the tourists, nevertheless attractive and splendid.

Platja de Muro – Es Comú is one of the four beaches of the municipality of Muro, boasting almost 1.5 kilometers of white sand, bordered by turquoise waters in a side and a dramatic flat landscape full of lush vegetation. Es Comú beach is part of the natural reserve of s’Albufera, very close to other places of interest within the park. Do not miss the dune system, or what has left of it, at walking distance from Platja de Muro – Es Comú.

To get to Platja de Muro – Es Comú is easy, from either Muro or Santa Margalida. From the first one, follow MA-3431 towards Can Picafort in a northeasterly direction. Once you get to the small urbanization of Can Picafort, enter local road C-712 turning left at the junction of MA-3431 with carretera Arta – Alcudia (MA-12). Continue on this last street for around 500 meters and turn right on the local road towards the coast. Leave your car and walk to the beach, accessible from both ends.

Municipality: Muro; Length: 1487 meters; Average width: 15 meters.

What if you could have traditions, a rich cultural heritage, history, sun and sand all together? That would be the perfect vacation, some of you could say. The beach of S`Illot makes the difference adding all these characteristics to a perfect bay with limpid waters. You may also add the small torrent of Ca n’Amer that flows right on this beach. Further more, you can add the small island visible from the coast area, the very island that has given our beach the name “Sa Illot”.

S`Illot of Manacor is a long an wide typical developed beach within the municipality of Manacor and gets really crowded during the summer. It is the northern Manacor beach, close to Sa Coma and part of Cala Morlanda, and boasts one of the best Talayotic sites of the island. S`Illot or Cala Moreia, as some of the locals know it, is located in a rather flat area, almost entirely dedicated to mass tourism.

Getting to S`Illot is quite simple, starting from Manacor or Sant Llorenç des Cardassar. From the first one, drive easterly onto MA-4021 and follow this road till the end, switch onto Carrer Rosa dels Vents and drive on this last street also to the end. Find a place to leave your car and enjoy one of Mallorca’s best places and beaches, Platja de S`Illot.

Please, do not confuse S`Illot of Manacor with S’Illot, the isolated beach part of the municipality of Alcudia.

When you have places like Palma or Manacor, it is normal to develop and make the difference in a crowded travel market. That added to the number of beaches spread all around Mallorca’s coast, makes the largest island of the Balearic Archipelago one of the best places to be during the summer, in the whole Mediterranean basin.

Popular beaches, like S’Estany d’en Mas, located nearby urbanizations, are the main attractions of the island. This particular beach is located just outside the village of Cala Romàntica and the reputation follows its name. Surrounded by rocky walls, the beach of S’Estany d’en Mas is a man made stretch of sand, in the same line with neighboring beaches of Cala Mendia and Cala Anguila, built around deep inlets, backed by beautiful surroundings.

Being the main beach of Cala Romàntica, the beach of S’Estany d’en Mas can be accessed easily, once you enter the coastal village. In order to get there from Manacor, you need to drive onto MA-4015 then switch right onto MA-4014 towards Cala Romàntica. Follow this last road for 1.7 kilometers and you are there.

If you really need a true advice about the beaches of Mallorca, you have to consider a few aspects. One of them regards their location, if you like popular beaches, close to main villages or cities, of you prefer secluded ones, for their calmness and tranquility. The other important aspects regards their proximity to other similar places. With that in mind, we can only think at two important areas – one is around Palma and the other one found around the Manacor municipality, all along its coast.

Porto Cristo beach, also known as Port de Manacor part of this last important region of Mallorca, enjoys a large popularity amongst visitors and locals alike. Its proximity to the Porto Cristo marina and to the great number of travel services makes it a favorite beach for anyone passing by Manacor. The natural setting shelters the beach against the high swells and winds from the open sea.

There a straight freeway from Manacor to Porto Cristo and the beach is easy to access once you get to this beautiful coastal town. Once entered the settlement, look for Amerigo Vespucci and Bordils streets located towards the coast and search for a place to park your car. The beach is accessed by foot, passing through the beautiful adjacent promenade.

Municipality: Manacor; Length: 350 meters; Average width: 25 meters.

Manacor, the second important town of Mallorca island, offers miles of pure sand beaches, attracting travelers from all over the world each year. Whether for its beaches or for the great number of impressive caves found in the area, the rugged coastline of Manacor is a definite highlight, a must for everyone visiting the largest of the Balearic islands.

Having beach and caves in mind, we can not go any further without mentioning the beach of Es Domingos Grans i Petits, the very place where we can have both. This stretch of sand boasts, aside from a limpid water and a truly spectacular scenery, a small cave that goes deep underwater, separating Grans and Petits, the two channels the composes it. We can add Es Domingos Grans i Petits to the number of Mallorcan beaches crowded for almost the entire time of the summer, due to its qualities, its structure suitable for all ages and the connections with the travel services found in the neighborhood.

Finding your way to get to Es Domingos Grans i Petits is simple, leaving Manacor onto MA-4014 in the direction of Son Macia, a small and picturesque village. From here, through a network of local roads, starting with Cales de Mallorca, you need to drive onto Cala Antena and pass by the beach here, continue on Passeo Manacor, then turn left on calle Formentor. Carry onto this last street till you find Cala Domingos, at the end of which Es Domingos Grans i Petits is to be found.

Now this is what I call pure beauty. Carved by the Mediterranean along the eastern coast of Manacor, Cala Varques is a wonderful beach overlooking a small crystalline cove.

Cala Varques sits on a rather flat terrain, with a background dotted with dense vegetation and pine trees. There is nothing here, except for this piece of heaven. No hotels or resorts to bother its calmness, no excessive development, usually no crowd, just total peace. The distance from here to the next major tourist attraction makes this beach a rare find, our true recommendation for simply everyone.

Access to Cala Varques is done by following MA-4015 from Manacor then turning left on MA-4014 and keep driving for 200 meters. Turn right here on a local road and continue driving till the end. Although isolated and pristine, it will not be hard for you to find a place to park your vehicle.

The coast of Manacor is not only celebrated for the numerous caves found recently around the area, but also for the great sandy beaches, challenging the well known resorts around capital city of Palma. One of the longest and most famous beaches on Manacor’s eastern shores is Cala Murada, a 350 meters stretch of pure sand, built around a beautiful large bay.

Cala Murada is a hidden gem of Mallorca, offering, aside from the quality of its sand, a few breathtaking landscapes of limpid water, backed by a series of private properties and hotels. Spread on one of its sides, a beautiful promenade makes it a popular spot for photographers and a wonderful stop for those seeking to relax. There are rocks and pebble, white sand and gravel, the greenish scenery of pine trees sitting in the middle of the daring houses, even a tiny flow of water, born in the neighboring heights, Torrent des Fengar.

To get to Cala Murada from Manacor, you need to take MA-4015 going south, then switch right onto MA-4014 till you pass by Cales de Mallorca. Once you pass this village, still on your left hand side, you will find your way to reach the village of Cala Murada, accessible through an extension of MA-4014, continuing on Via Europa. Stay onto this last street till the end and find a place to park your car. You may then carry on walking a few meters and you’ll find Cala Murada.

Some of the most sensational beaches of Mallorca are found on Manacor’s eastern coast, between Portocolom and Porto Cristo. Located nearby Cala Romàntica, Cala Mendia counts as one of Manacor’s beautiful beaches. Its crystal waters and exquisite surroundings makes it a rare find, even on an island filled with such wonderful natural spots.

The whole area has a higher importance though, that caused by the number of caves spread all around the coast, some of theme pretty inaccessible, or accessible only via boat, as is the one grown from the neighbor’s beach rugged shore, Cala Antena. This particular beach is separated from Cala Mendia only by a short headland and presents almost the same characteristics – deeply shaped into the shores inlets. The mainland scenery here is also dotted with a few hotels and villas, accommodating the principal source of tourists of Cala Mendia.

Getting here from Manacor is pretty easy, coming from the municipality’s capital on MA-4015, then going along MA-4014 and passing by Cala Romantica, a small picturesque Majorcan village. After passing the village, turn right on carrer Marco Polo and stay on this street until the junction with Passeig Federico Garcia Lorca, when you need to turn right again. At the end of this last street, you will find the road of Cala Mendia and your sea & sun location for the day.

Waters as clears as glass, rugged coast, few little villas and hotels, proximity to main tourist resorts – this is Cala Antena, a tiny beach along the eastern shore of the Mallorca, the biggest of the Balearic islands. Born within this coast are a couple of caves, one of them really close to the beach, accessible via boat but also for experienced swimmers.

Cala Antena is positioned between Portocolom and Porto Cristo, at about 15 kilometers away from Manacor, nearby Calles de Mallorca, the main attraction of the area. The inlet carved by the sea deep into the land is bordered on two sides by rocky shores, very different in looks. On one side there is plenty of vegetation, scrubland and a few pine trees, on the other side we will see nothing but bare rock. The beach of Cala Antena is rather short but alongated, following the inlet’s shape, right to the mouth of a seasonal torrent stemming from the higher altitudes.

From Manacor, head onto MA-4014 towards Porto Cristo and turn right heading to Calles de Mallorca. From the small coastal village, drive onto calle Ancanada then switch on Cala Antena road. The beach can be accessed via staircase.

Not very far from the bustling capital of the island, the municipality of Manacor, lies its beaches along the eastern Mallorca coast, offering a few sea & sun experiences you may not be able to forget that soon.

One of the jewels of Manacor’s shoreline is Cala Anguila, a stretch of pure sand rolled around a deep inlet, backed by an awesome coastal scenery, filled with small cozy villas and hotels. The main lain landscape, dotted with pine trees spread around the rocky terrain, is challenged only by the limpid waters of the Mediterranean, in an area free of high sea swells and winds. Also deep carved into the rugged grounds, you will be able to visit an important cave, hidden in between the dense scrubland. Actually, this is the land of caves, one of the most important highlights of the island, Coves del Drach, being located in easy reach from Cala Anguila, towards Porto Cristo. Cala Anguila is the perfect place for sea and nature lovers, only a few kilometers away from Porto Cristo – main port of the area – and in easy reach from both important towns of the area, Manacor and Sant Llorenç.

Directions to reach Cala Anguila from Manacor are to the east, following MA-4015 then turning left onto MA-4014. A the first junction, you need to turn right, after Cala Romàntica onto carrer Marco Polo. Stay straight and head to the end of this street where you can leave your car and go down the steps to access the beach of Cala Anguila.
