Caimari

Caimari, is a small village in the Serra de Tramuntana and belongs to the municipality of Selva. This is the last village we find along the way before reaching Lluch. The views here are very good and the town is located just 6km from Inca, where you will find bars, restaurants and many shops.

There are about 6 small and charming hotels in Caimari with very good quality, where you will enjoy breath taking views of the Serra de Tramuntana.

In the Plaza Major of Caimari we find the parish church of the Immaculate Conception, built in the nineteenth century, the convent of Franciscan nuns, the house of the rectory and the City Hall. Other points of architectural interest are the stately homes of Ca S’Hereu and Son Alberti, typical Majorcan finca of Islamic origin. Next to it we find the church Vella (old), a sample of rural religious architecture and the oldest building of the place. Caimari Ethnological Park is an open air museum where you can see several typical buildings of traditional activities, which for centuries the inhabitants of the Sierra de Tramuntana made good use of to exploit natural resources.

Popular festivities in Caimari:
- 19 and 20 November
- Feast of the Immaculate on August 15
- Olive Fair on 21 and 22 November

The weekly market takes place every Monday.
